So I'm not big on "chain" establishments but Ruth's is one of the exceptions...well maybe this one. Their happy hour is setting the bar for others with attentive staff.

Such a great experience. Table was decorated for my mom's birthday simply from mentioning it in the online reservation. Our waiters were so attentive, going above and beyond to accommodate my mom's special needs (post stroke) while making her feel as normal as could be...I was just so impressed with the staff. Food was amazing, as usual.

Food is real pricing and honestly not that good. We had the special three course dinner and it was 54 per person. the drinks are at least 12 per item with by the glass wine topping 20 per glass. I expected to pay a lot but the food is really not that good. I love the design and atmosphere but the food is nothing to crave or even want to get again. I will not eat another Ruths Cris again

I am so happy that we finally have a decent steak house here in St. Pete! Everything was fantastic as always and up to par with what I expect from Ruth's Chris. Their wine selection does not disappoint either. We love it and will continue to go back.

This was my second time dinning at Ruth's Chris and will probably be my last for dine-in service. I ordered the Harvest Salad and asked to add chicken. Pretty standard for a salad to add protein. Salad portion was slightly larger than what I would expect for a side salad and the additional chicken was MAYBE a 5 oz portion. When the bill came my salad was now $26.50. I asked the server, who was lovely, about the price difference and she informed me that it was indeed correct and they charge 16$ additional for the chicken. Baffled at the huge price difference the server said she'd have a manager come over to discuss with me. As the female manager approached she was very aggressive in her demeanor and asked how she could help. I told her the situation and she began to tell me,"well it's USDA Grade chicken....." And I'm thinking well of course it is. Then I said it would be nice to know that the additional charge was basically another meal, or I would have made another dinner option. She told me the server doesn't have to tell me the price, unless I ask! Coming from a hospitality background, Hospitality 101 is that if there is an up charge to always confirm with the guest... To avoid this situation. Needless to say, the manager did nothing and was rude about the situation. Considering this is a chain, I will be sure to support our local steak houses. Servers were nice and kept up with our table, however overall experience was lax to say the least.

I have been to many Ruth's Chris steakhouses before, and they were all pretty good. However, this one is a complete failure. I don't know where they went wrong here, but it seems like they bit off more than they can chew and handle. I went there on a weekday, and I was told that I needed a reservation to eat inside, but their patio was first come first serve. I sat myself down and it took 10 minutes for our waiter to ask us if we were being helped. 5 minutes after that we finally got our menus. It must have took him over 15 minutes to come back to us and take our orders, even drinks... That should have been taken care of off the bat. We got our salads pretty quickly, and they were just ok. We had ordered wine with the meal, and one of the glasses were empty. Our main courses came out, and we were trying to get any waiter at this point to get another round of wine. We finally flagged one down, and he said he would try to locate our waiter. By the time he came back we were done with our meal. They could have made so much more money if they had the proper staff to wait the tables. The problem I saw was that there were tons of staff, they just didn't know what one another was doing. It was almost comical watching them. Almost worth paying to watch the comedy show they displayed. The steaks were cooked well, but way over salted and just wasn't a great steak. If you are using butter that is salted, no need to add more salt. Almost an like a Outback Steakhouse steak. Mediocre at best, and definitely not up to par of a real Ruth's Chris. Highly disappointed. The worst part about this, the prices were higher than the ones in New York?! I thought that was absurd, considering the service and food we received. I don't think I would come back unless this was under new management and had a new chef to keep up with the standards.

Went here for my anniversary with my bf. Everyone was super nice and the table had rose petals on it. I was really happy with the service. We ordered the porterhouse for two which was 40 oz and it was perfectly cooked and enough for the two of us. The sides come a la carte so we got the brussell sprouts which were delicious and had honey butter and bacon yummy and the fries and broccoli were good too. It's pricey if you get a lot of sides cuz each is like $10 so I'd stick to two and share it next time. All in all I had a wonderful time and would definitely go back for my bday or anniversary again :)

Wow! Best steak I ever had. That is saying a lot as I have been to all the biggies in Tampa. Envision a top shelf prime, aged filet and ribeye, served sizzling hot on a 500 degree plate drenched in sizzling butter. Incredible. The prices are high so don't come if you are going to whine about the price. The service was exceptional as well. Kids got lemonade that was fresh squeezed at the bar. The Chef's table is the best deal in my opinion. You get a prix fix deal for 45-55$/ person. My wife and I got a steakhouse salad, full size filet, smaller sides (mashed and creamed spinach) and dessert for 55$ each. We will be back! By the way, the new Sun Dial complex is gourgeous with other outstanding eats and shopping. Just come! If you are disappointed then I can't help you!

This review is for the happy hour as the Resteraunt is the same in every location - they have good steak. The happy hour is not at all locations, it is Sunday - Friday 4:30 to 6:30 at the bar or outside patio. They have a decent happy hour menu, everything is $8! Choices include prime burger, steak sandwich, crab BLT, tenderloin salad, seared ahi tuna, and spicy lobster. I tried them all as this is my third time here in 2 weeks. They are all tasty and normal portion size, not appetizer size! They also have various drinks, the royal street gin and tonic is really good, beer and wine all $8. Great deal for some after work fun.

A bit pricey compared to other places around downtown, but W A Y worth it. My steak was amazing. Martinis were perfect, our server was super nice and knew her wine. Loved it.

We had the most amazing experience! Winston was our server and normally we go to the Tampa location. We were super excited to see they opened one in St. Pete. It is BEAUTIFUL not the heavy old boys steak house design. Winston was amazing!! All of his suggestions were spot on! The service was amazing and we will go back for all our events. The lobster mac n cheese was amazing!! The steaks were spot on but that chopped salad ....ohhhhh how I love that salad!!!!! It is the best salad I have ever eaten. They have complimentary a valet and it is in a beautiful location!!!!! Oh Preston was the assistant and he was just as amazing and very thoughtful!

What is the major malfunction people?!?!?! It's a Ruth Chris for Christ sakes! How do you F-Up a Ruth Chris chain steak house?! How is it that that an all time classic and much anticipated arrival to the Burg could be so F'd up when it comes to side times and service? I've been back several times and the bad just keeps on keeping bad month after month since opening. It must be those real life side item Gremlins in the kitchen blowing those side dishes right out their hairy little asses along with dumb & dumber running the place. Or maybe it's just that they have a former manger from a frigging AppleBee's (way over her head) running a high end steak joint for some ungodly reason. Ruth have you been eating to much hot sauce up there in the dirt Nola? Someone better get here from corporate ASAP before dumb dumb and the side item gremlins wreck this million dollar party before it even gets started. I mean really... It's a Ruth Chris people. Fix it.

Happy hour here is great. There are a few drinks that are only $8 which is nice, considering most of the cocktails are $13. But splurge for the blueberry mojito! I was also ecstatic the Spicy Lobster was only $8 (usually $20), so I ordered 2. The lobster is fried to perfection and the sauce complimented it perfectly. The steak sandwich was great! I usually think they are pretty boring and not very special but this was cooked exactly how I ordered it, perfectly seasoned, and the fries that came with it were just crispy enough. The seared tuna app was very good, I just wish it came with wasabi. (How can you have tuna without it?) But it did come with a ginger sauce that was good. The bartenders were all attentive and seemed to work well with each other (which I think is important when sitting at a bar). Overall it was a pleasant experience and I would come back.

Omg. The ambience is beautiful. We sat outside on the patio and was able to enjoy the sunset while eating our steaks.. This was by far one of the best steaks I've ever had... I let my boyfriend talk me in to getting my steak Pittsburgh style... Seared on the outside and raw inside... It was sooooo good... We left extremely full and agreed why it was a bit pricey but Def worth it.

The review is for the happy hour only. We came in and were seated promptly. The menu for happy hour is pretty decent. Everything is $8. We decided on the ahi tuna and then we both got the steak sandwich. The tuna was ok. I've definitely had better. It tasted like it was seasoned with pastrami seasoning. It was fairly small. The steak sandwich was actually really tasty. Soft bun. Steak cooked perfectly. Good flavors. That is what earns the stars. The fries were so limp. I had actually ordered mine extra crispy. If you help one up it dropped south. Lol the complete opposite of crispy. The service was terrible. Waitress seemed like she was so over working and was short/rude. There was a broken glass near by and she was cleaning it. My wife let her know there was some under the chair and she acted so pissed that she pointed it out. Lol happy hour drinks were okish. Not worth the $8 per martini. Go two blocks away to cask and ale and have a good cocktail.

This review is for drinks at the bar and outside at one of the casual sofa's only. We went twice in one night. First just my boyfriend and I at the bar. I got a dirty martini with blue cheese stuffed olives for $13, Grey Goose, it was good. He got a Spanish white wine and enjoyed it. I asked for a glass of water that never arrived. It wasn't overly crowded and you can eat the bar. They have tv's as well. We went elsewhere for dinner and then after went back to Ruth's Chris with another couple to enjoy a drink outside on their cozy couch area with a fire pit. The service was a little scattered. We asked about beer on tap and were told they have 3 Green Bench beers from a local company and something else I don't remember. Two of us got Green Bench wheat, it was so hoppy horrible I couldn't drink mine and asked her to replace it with a different bottled beer. It tasted nothing like a wheat beer, ick. My friend got a thyme agave martini like drink with a sugar rim and LOVED it!! My boyfriend enjoyed his glass of red zin. We all enjoyed the atmosphere with the couch and fire pit. It was a communal area and we shared it with two other couples. They have a good bar menu and we will go back for that and dinner another time. Enjoy!!

The food is everything it should be. Delectable, impeccably prepared and worth every penny. I've been twice now and sat at the bar both times. We like a good bar scene. The service was atrocious on both occasions. It was not busy both times...on a Friday each times. These are not the A-list servers you would expect for the money. Clearly Sea Salt, Annata, Park Shore Grill and the like cleaned out the creme de la creme of professional servers. "Do you know what you want?" was the question we were asked after 5 minutes after we requesting a menu, never having received said menu on the first occasion. Both times bartenders actively avoided eye contact before greeting us. I have a background in the service industry and love my restaurant people. I can forgive a lot. Just acknowledge me and make sure my drink doesn't run dry. I have no interest in returning and it seems that Downtown St. Pete received the same memo. Too bad this is a fail.

By far my favorite Ruth's Chris of them all. The location is amazing in the SunDial shopping center. The inside was decorated perfect for the artistic style of St. Petersburg (The Burg). The service is top notch and as usual...the food always delivers. This is my go to restaurant for a birthday or special occasion. Can't say enough about this Ruth's Chris.

Well after hearing about this place and reading the reviews we thought we'd give it a try. I have to say that I am sorry that we wasted our money. There are much better places to eat that aren't ridiculously expensive. We walked up after seeing a movie and asked if we could sit on the patio. The Hostess said sure just go grab a table. We found a table that was bused but not wiped. A hostess came up to give us menus and we explained that the table needed to be wiped. She then set the menus on the wet dirty table. (One of my hugest pet peeves) I then went to sit down in my chair and sat in something wet. I switched the chairs around and got the dry one. I told the waiter that the chair was wet and to not let anyone sit in it. I sat with soaking wet pants the whole time we ate. He said "maybe it was the rain, it rained earlier". I said " well you'd think that this chair that was closest to the balcony would have been the wet one". He just shrugged. No offer of a napkin or anything to dry off with. For this supposedly being such a high classed restaurant, the waiter was very green, the service was bad all around, and the food was terrible. Some of the steaks on the menu are $65.00 for just the steak. And then the Potatoes are an additional charge of $10.50 as well as the salad and so on. My husband and I split a dinner deal with a small filet, lobster tail a soup, a side and a dessert.. The steak was under done and we never were asked how it was. The Lobster was nothing exceptional, in fact I spit it out. We were never offered drink refills, and the side of Au-gratin Potatoes were mediocre at best. We took the dessert home which was a very small piece of cheesecake which my husband ate later. He said that this was one of the best desserts he had ever had. But overall we really expected more from a place that is charging these outrageous prices. We at least expect decent service. Trust me when I say this place is nothing to write home about. Save yourself some money and go to Outback.

This new restaurant has a great deal of growth required to meet the high standards of the rest of the chain! The service was wonderful, that is why I have given them a 2 star rating vs. the 1 star the quality of the meal deserved. The chef at this restaurant did not get the temperature of the proteins cooked properly on 4 out of 4 steaks. Our table ordered 2 petite filets, 1 regular filet & 1 Cowboy Ribeye. The two petite filets were cooked reasonably well, but not perfectly. The Regular filet was undercooked as it was rare when ordered medium and the Cowboy Ribeye was Black and Blue (Almost Raw) when it was ordered Medium Rare. In addition, the sides were not up to par. The Lobster Mac and Cheese was perhaps the worst dish I have ever seen come out of a kitchen in this fine chain! It was served with the consistency of a cheese soup. The other side items were cold and not up to standard! We waited over 40 minutes to have our food hit the table after appetizers. After they refired the undercooked steaks, the butter was burnt and they were overcooked. Our party simply gave up hope to have a top notch meal. I brought the problems up to the manager. She knocked a few items off of the bill, but should have either comped the terrible meal or at a minimum removed the embarrassing Steaks from the check. It will be a long time before I set foot in any other Ruth's Chris as a result of this meal. I have taken several clients to this chain countless times in the past and never left so unsatisfied. On this occasion, we left wishing we had gone somewhere else.

Who do I love? I love Eric, Cathy, Greg, Kristi, Rick and Alec. Why? They always go way out of their way to ensure an awesome guest experience. These folks work super hard and are always on point with friendly attitudes and excellent service. The food? Especially love the tuna! Yum! Fresh and flavorful. Their version of a Manhattan is tops too. Yay! So happy!

Biggest bar that I've seen at a Ruths! Great for a quick drink before dinner or if you just want an appetizer. I suggest the Spicy Lobster or the Stuffed Mushrooms if you're going the route of the latter. For dinner, I had the Sea Bass while my wife had the Stuffed Chicken. We normally get their steaks, but wanted to try something different - and, both were excellent! Our business associate chose to eat light and went with the Crab Cakes which were excellent - but our table favorite was the Stuffed Chicken. Our server, Dianne, was the consumate professional - friendly, prompt, and knowledgeable. For our wine, the manager/sommelier, Frank, picked out the perfect white for my Sea Bass - not an easy task considering my red loving palate and the mix of foods at our table. His knowledge, description, and enthusiasm about both the wines and wineries that make them were reminiscent of a Napa wine tour. We skipped desert this time, but the Bannannas Foster has always been fabulous. All in all one of the better Ruth's that I've been to - if not the best!

This review is for happy hour: nice selection of food at $8 each (ahi tuna, crispy lobster, steak sand, crab blt). Not my fav place for HH drinks; prefer Sea Salt HH deal. Get there right at 4:30, bar fills up quickly. They don't offer HH on Saturday, but Sea Salt does!

What a wonderful new spot in DTSP. Located in the spectacular Sundial, this new top notch restaurant fits like a puzzle piece. The bar is elegant yet cozy; premium but not pretentious; familiar fancy. Ruth's Chris top quality food has not been compromised, and new seasonal and golden anniversary items are available. I highly urge everyone to stop in soon, at any capacity.

Based on the fact that I've had nothing but great experiences at the rest of the chain, I'm sure this new location will get better. BUT... for $300, I expect great now, not later. I took my family early on a Monday afternoon for dinner. Despite the fact that the restaurant was 90% empty, we were given a table next to the kitchen exit and next to a window (one of only 2 tables next to the west facing windows). Didn't think about either of these facts much at first, so I didn't ask to be re-seated. During sunset the mesh type curtains mostly did a good job filtering the sun. However there was a 15 or 20 minute period in the middle of the meal where you had to squint to see. If they had almost any table to choose from, why did they sit us there? The answer was a very unsatisfying "I don't know, they seat you at the front desk" Hopefully enough people will complain and they will make that the LAST table seated at sunset, not the first. The constant stream of people out of the kitchen and passing by while being seated was annoying after I thought about it for a while, but just enough to mention. The food as always at RC was fantastic. We had Calamari and BBQ Shrimp as an appetizer and 4 fillets with Lobster Mac and Cheese, Creamed Spinach and Potatoes Au Gratin. The steaks were a bit under cooked, but so delicious and tender that we scarfed them down anyway. The waitress was also inexperienced as well, because she completely screwed up the timing of the apps, salads and meals with long gaps in between. In an almost empty restaurant, this is hard to understand. All in all, the food was great, the service was OK, the table sucked. When I'm committing to spending that type of money on a meal, I want something more. I want something special. This won't stop me from going to Ruth's Chris, but it will send me to the one in Tampa until this one has a little more time under it's belt.

All I can say is absolutely outstanding! The smell of butter the great service and the fantastic food is just to die for. My only complaint is getting the shoestring French fries. They isn't enough potato in the fry to be called a French fry. The steak is the best I've ever had! It comes out in a sizzling dish with butter around it. It is a great experience and I would love to come back!

Three stars because the steaks etc were delicious but the service was not. Our waitress for my party of 7 including 2 kids, 5 and 7, rushed us in the beginning and got lost thru the middle and end. A 3 hour meal on a Sunday is more than leisurely. We got there at 5:30 because happy hour was 4:30-6:30. She never mentioned it. She never mentioned until she brought the food that we could easily have shared all the sides and should have ordered half as many. I felt she was milking us for all she could while ignoring us the rest of the time. I would give 2.5 stars if that were an option.

We went in June for hubby's bday. We arrived an hour early and they sat us right away. They sprinkled bday confetti on the table and welcomed my husband by name upon introduction. We shared the tomahawk for two that comes with a free bottle of wine and it was amazing. After dinner we sat outside for coffee and his complimentary bday cheesecake. Definitely a place to go when celebrating,

We have been looking forward to the recently-opened Ruth's Chris is St Petersburg. We saved the occasion for our 18th wedding anniversary. The plan was to arrive early, have a pre-dinner drink and then be seated. Reservations were made online and we were welcomed graciously by the receptionist. So far-so good. We sat at the bar, had our drinks and were escorted to our table, right on time. Water glasses were filled, bread and flower petals placed on the table and then NOTHING. After 40 minutes, it was clear that we had fallen through the cracks. How could so many employees, including the manager, not notice that something was not right? Finally, I took my case back to the reception desk and informed them of our problem. One girl actually thought it was funny and laughed. This is Ruth's Chris...not a cheap diner. I returned to the table and a server finally came to us and apologized for the staffing mix-up. We never did have a manager visit us. Alright, with that out of the way, we finally ordered and enjoyed a wonderfully superb meal. High-quality food presented and served to perfection. By the way, the rose petals appear to be a signal to indicate a special occasion, such as our anniversary. It was a nice touch, as a couple of employees extended Happy Anniversary greetings. The manager went past our table numerous times and never spoke a word. Our server, Samantha, was very, very good. The bottom line is this. When a high end establishment, with a proven track record, opens their doors for business, they had better have their act together. The high price point should guarantee ALL aspects of the dining experience. That is what your customers expect. On this night, at least, RC failed. The restaurant was not busy and there were plenty of employees. They simply came across as inexperienced and not overly concerned about details. Problems like these start and finish with management and training. We have such a high regard for Ruth's Chris, in general, that we will return at some point in the future. When the fine-tuning is completed.

Absolutely delicious meal, sides and cocktails. The service was fabulous to boot! We elected to eat outside since a shower had just cooled off the temp a bit- great decision. We ordered the petite filets and I got the petite filet with shrimp. Our sides were lobster mac and cheese and asparagus. My two cocktail choices were the raspberry rosemary martini and the coconut ginger lemon drop. Both choices were excellent but I'd say the raspberry rosemary is a must! Scrumptious!

Eh, it was good, but pricey. Over rated, if you ask me. Everything was fine, service, timing, ambiance, etc. But the a la carte menu with its prices were not worth it. One could do better elsewhere and get much more for your money.

Never had a bad meal here!! Delicious drinks, expensive (but worth it) steaks and great outdoor setting. My kind of place. Get the crab stack, chopped salad and split the rib eye! Must end with an espresso martini!!

Bartenders were amazing & attentive. Food was amazing. Service was lacking. Had to Ask repeatedly for drink refills. When food was brought to table we asked for steak sauce & horseradish. We waited some time before we began eating steak without requested items, then server returned after we had finished eating, empty handed & apologized that he forgot our request. Not what you expect from a high end steak restaurant, especially when you have dined at other locations & are expecting better service.

Live up to and exceed it's reputation! The staff was all extremely friendly and attentive. The food was superb, steaks were cooked perfectly even with our table ranging in orders from rare to medium-well. We had a birthday in our party, and the restaurant went out of their way to make it a special evening for them. I will definitely be recommending Ruth's Chris to friends and family!
